RWA was engaged to provide full-service architectural and interior design to transform this aged existing building into a dynamic gathering space. The existing roof was partially demolished to achieve a more open interior with the addition of new structural beams and support columns. Originally constructed in 1954, the renovation required a balancing of agency requirements to successfully address code compliance issues, including the addition of fire sprinklers.

The distressed brick façade is understated with raw steel beams, expansive glazing with views to the interior, dark wood, and glass brick accents. Brick cladding wraps into the interior space and is paired with weathered steel and warm wood flooring, ceiling, and millwork accents. Blackened steel and stone reinforced the elevated industrial aesthetic, which is juxtaposed against the glossy white and stainless-steel show kitchen.
